Re: Kipling Hospital and Nursing Residence Demolition
As stated in previously in a news release from Sun Country Health Region, demolition of the vacant Kipling Hospital and Nursing Residence will be taking place over the next several months.
Demolition of the existing buildings involves an environmental assessment of the building, abatement of any environmentally sensitive materials followed by demolition and site remediation. During the abatement process special precautions will be taken by a specialized contractor to ensure there is no risk of any air borne or otherwise to the immediate neighbourhood.
The abatement and demolition work is expected to bein in August 2017 and continue for approximately 12 weeks. The contractor will take every precaution to protect the surrounding properties and/or area from disturbance and damage during demolition.
During demolition the contractor will salvage 500 bricks from the Memorial Hospital as a keepsake for community members. Distribution of the bricks will be communicated through Town Council following the demolition project.
We ask for your cooperation throughout this project and that you do not access the property, buildings, or parking area without permission from Sun Country Health Region.
Please contact Gail Dakue, Town of Kipling at (306) 736-2515 if you have any questions.
